The Practice of Affirmations

Suffering from anxiety & depression is life-changing. You start to wonder if you will always be like this & if these feelings of anxiousness & sadness will ever go away. It can be life-altering knowing you might suffer from anxiety your whole life. You send yourself into a spiral of the unknown & it can be scary, especially if you’ve never experienced this before. My TBI Story

I suffered from a Traumatic Brain Injury at 15 & I began to question if my life would ever be the same. I was falling behind in school, I was told I might not graduate on time & I felt lonely & confused. Confused as to why this happened to me, why did my life have to drastically change within the blink of an eye?

I suffered from anxiety for years to come until I found the power of spiritual healing with affirmations. I was scrolling on TikTok & came across a powerful message about the practice of simple affirmations. I started learning affirmations & how to tune into my mind & my thoughts. I was able to release my fears about results & have a sense of ease & playfulness when it comes to the unknown. I began to realize not only was my suffering a part of my journey that led me here, but it also left me with a pivotal choice, to continue to suffer or to be willing to let go.

Choosing to let go was the best decision I have ever made for myself.

I’m able to think clearly now & I am in control of my thoughts. I still experience waves of sadness & anxiety, but I have the tools to soothe me, so it doesn’t affect me as much as it once did. It is a state to strive for & I am always going to be on this never-ending journey. When I do have any anxious thoughts, I start to flip every negative thought I have & turn it into a positive affirmation. I am able to calm my own mind & return to my relaxed, at-ease state. 

Not only have affirmations led me to a calmer state, but they have also shown me so many other practices that have helped me further relieve my mental & physical pain including meditation & practicing true forms of self-love.

Affirmation Practice:

Use the affirmations above or any positive thoughts that you are striving for & repeat them daily. Make a list of your favorite affirmations & put them on your phone, artwork, frame them, anywhere you are able to read them aloud each day. There are millions of affirmations you can use! You can even begin to develop your favorite affirmation that you can repeat throughout the day to ground you. If you are willing, you can also use affirmations to get into a meditative state. Turn on some meditation music of your choice & repeat the affirmation of your choice until you feel that affirmation sinking in. It is your truth.
